You're not short of people visiting you. You're short of knowing at exactly which point you lose them. And it's almost always the same one. I'll show you how to find it in five minutes, with pen and paper.
«Pedro, people come to my website but nobody buys.» I hear this line every week. And the conversation almost always goes to the wrong place: more ads, more visits, more Instagram. Sending more people into a place that loses clients just means losing more clients, and faster. First you have to plug the hole.
The good news is that the hole is almost never hidden. It's usually at a very specific point on the path, and you find it quickly if you look properly. That path, from someone discovering you to paying you, is called a funnel, and every business has one, whether they know it or not.
You don't need software or colourful dashboards. Grab a piece of paper and do this:
And do you know where it is in 8 out of 10 small businesses? At the contact or payment step. Too many clicks, endless forms that ask for your blood type, or simply that it isn't clear what the person is supposed to do. The client wanted to buy from you and you set them an exam.
You're not short of people. You're short of knowing which step you lose them on.
Once you've located the leak, the fix is almost always to remove, not add. Count the clicks from when the client arrives to when they buy or message you. The aim is for it to be done in as few steps as possible.
There's a subtler leak, one that comes before all this: talking to everyone. When you try to please just anyone, you say nothing to anybody. And people, not feeling spoken to, walk on by even if the path is perfect.
It looks like you're closing doors, but the opposite happens: when someone feels «this is for me», they buy. The generic message, the one that fits everyone, speaks to no one.
To finish, don't drive yourself mad measuring. If you measure everything, you get lost and decide nothing. Pick one number that really moves your business (calls, bookings, quotes requested) and watch it every week. One. The one that, if it goes up, tells you you're on track.
That number tells you more than a hundred charts. It tells you whether what you changed this week worked or not. And with that you can already decide where to get to work next week.
Winning new clients is expensive and exhausting. Stopping the loss of the ones you already brought in is the most profitable thing you'll do this month. And it starts with a piece of paper, five minutes and the honesty to look at where they're slipping away.
We look at your website or your process and point out the exact place where your clients are slipping away.
