It works for general dental clinics, orthodontics, implantology, paediatric dentistry or cosmetic dentistry. The treatment changes, but the decision pattern is the same: the patient searches, compares trust and price, and books with whoever makes it easy and gives them reassurance.
What a patient really looks for before booking
The dental decision mixes urgency, fear and money. In the first few seconds, the patient wants to answer three questions:
- Can you sort out my problem? Your specialty and treatments clear and, if you handle emergencies, clearly visible.
- Can I trust you? Who treats you, their training, the technology, the clinic from the inside and real reviews. People trust their mouth to those who convey reassurance.
- How much does it cost and how do I pay? On expensive treatments, price transparency and financing are decisive.
If your website does not answer all three clearly, the patient goes back to Google and books at the clinic next door. And that is fixed with trust and transparency, more than with load speed.
The six elements your dental website should have
In order of impact:
- A first screen that says it all: what you treat, where and a booking button visible without scrolling. If you handle emergencies, make it visible immediately.
- Proof of professionalism (E-E-A-T): a team with qualifications and professional registration number, technology and real photos of the clinic. In healthcare it is essential.
- Real reviews on display. The dental decision leans on social proof, so show verifiable Google ratings.
- Frictionless booking: WhatsApp one click away, a tap-to-call number and, if you can, online booking. Every extra step is a patient lost.
- Treatments and prices explained: implants, invisible orthodontics or whitening, with honest price ranges and financing.
- Visible compliance: legal notice, privacy and cookies, with special care for health data.
Price and financing: the transparency that closes expensive treatments
An implant, orthodontics or a full-mouth rehabilitation are decisions of several thousand euros. Here trust is won with transparency:
- Honest price ranges. You do not need a fixed rate card, but you do need to give guidance («implant from X €, depending on the case»). A patient who sees no price at all grows suspicious and leaves.
- Clear financing. If you offer payment in instalments, say so plainly: it is what turns «I cannot right now» into a «yes», with no misleading fine print.
- A first assessment with no obligation. Many treatments start with a diagnosis: make it easy to book and make clear what it includes.
Hiding the price creates the awkward phone call and the patient who haggles; transparency attracts the one who already comes decided.
Local SEO: getting found when people search «dentist in your city»
Almost all your patients look for you nearby, often in a hurry. Three levers, in order:
- Your Google listing (Google Business Profile), where the nearby patient decides: correct category, opening hours (including emergencies), photos, services and replying to every review. A well-kept listing wins the map «3-pack».
- Reviews in quantity and fresh. Ask every happy patient with an easy link; volume and freshness count more than a perfect score.
- One page per treatment. «Dental implants in your city» or «invisible orthodontics in your city», each with its own fast, clear page, rank far better than a generic website.
Trust and data: GDPR in healthcare is serious
Health data is a special category under the GDPR and the law protects it more strictly. Getting it right gives you a trust advantage:
- Minimal forms with clear consent, linking to your privacy policy. Never request clinical data through an open web form.
- HTTPS always and a provider that hosts the data in the European Union.
- Legal notice and privacy policy tailored to healthcare; the generic ones copied off the internet show and are no use.
Digital ownership: do not let your clinic be held hostage
The most expensive mistake we see in dental clinics: the website, the domain, the email and the Google listing in the agency's name and not the clinic's. The day you want to switch, you discover your brand online is not yours.
Check that you control the eight keys to your presence: domain, hosting, website, email, Analytics, Google listing and pixel. If something is not in your name, demand it in writing.
How to measure whether it works (beyond visits)
A dental clinic does not need «more traffic»: it needs more appointments and more treatments accepted. Measure what matters:
- Clicks to WhatsApp, calls and bookings from the website and from the Google listing.
- First assessments and how many turn into treatment.
- New reviews per month and the percentage answered (the target is 100 %).
- Your position on the map for the key treatments, checking it in incognito each week.
The number of followers does not fill the calendar; assessment appointments do.
A measurable benchmark: annapsi.com
It is not a dental clinic, but a health website (psychology) that we built with this same approach —trust, E-E-A-T and a sound technical base— and bring as a reference for the measurable standard we apply. Its real Google Lighthouse metrics on mobile, measured on 15 June 2026 and published with Anna's permission: 100 in SEO, 99 in performance, 100 in best practices and CLS 0 (no layout shifts). Only what has been measured.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I have to put prices on the website? Not the full rate card, but yes indicative ranges («from X €») and the financing. A patient who sees transparency trusts.
- Do I need online booking or is WhatsApp enough? WhatsApp and a tap-to-call number already convert very well. Online booking adds up once you have volume.
- How much does a website for a dental clinic cost? It depends on what you need; it usually ranges from 900 to 3.500 €. What matters is that it is yours —domain and data in your name— and that it is built to convert.
- And if an agency runs my website and I do not know what I control? Check the eight keys in five minutes and, if something is not in your name, ask for it in writing.
